For comparison, the thickness of a typical sheet of paper is about .004 of an inch--forty times thicker than the .0001 tolerances routinely held in our grinding department at Byars Machine Company! Our operators are well trained in their craft and, using specially selected and stringently maintained equipment, they are able to consistently meet the thickness, flatness, and parallel tolerance requirements essential to precision grinding.

In addition, our customized, machine shop in Laurens, South Carolina, is fully climate controlled, which allows us to hold tolerances of .0001".
