Byars Machine Company was originally created in 1946 to repair steel rollers in the textile mills.  

Merial Byars, Jr., Bob Byars, and Joe Edge began in a small shop in Lanford, SC.  As the partners' reputation for quality grew, the business soon began to repair rolls for textile mills across the Southeastern United States.

Business later expanded to include manufacturing of fabric inspection machines, yarn creels, custom machinery, and material handling devices.

Today, Byars Machine Company operates in a 220,00 square foot facility to support aerospace, food service, defense, automotive, and textile industries.
